How to Transfer Digital Pictures from Camera to PC

These instructions are somewhat generic but will work most of the time.
  1. Plug USB cable into camera.
    1. Flip up plastic cover that says A/V Out or something similar.
    2. Plug small end of USB cable into port on side of camera.
  2. Plug USB cable into computer.
  3. Turn camera on.
  4. Computer will recognize the camera and open the Scanner and Camera Wizard. If not, you can open My Computer and look for your camera and double-click it to open the Scanner and Camera Wizard. Last option would be to open My Pictures, look under Picture Tasks and click on the link to download pictures from your camera.
  5. Click Next.
  6. Click Next.
  7. Under #2, click the Browse button and either select the correct existing folder by clicking on it, or click on the My Pictures folder and then the Make New Folder button. Type the name for the new folder.
  8. Click on the OK button.
  9. Click Next.
  10. The pictures will download to the selected folder.
  11. Click Next.
  12. Click Finish.
  13. The computer will open up the folder where you put the pictures.

Once you have finished downloading the pictures, you can rename and organize them, print or burn to a CD, and / or delete the pictures from your camera.

Don't forget: if you transfer pictures from your camera to your computer after each event, then the task never becomes too daunting or burdensome a task, and you'll remain more familiar with the procedures as well.
